When I was planning my daughter’s first birthday party, I am all about totally custom things so I started looking for some special details I could add. When searching on Etsy one day I stumbled on the Graceful Notes shop AKA Graceful Correspondence (http://www.etsy.com/shop/Gracefulnotes) I first was drawn to their name (My name means “Grace” and one of my future daughters will have the name Grace as well) so I thought I would check it out! This was right up my alley! They have custom stationary, recipe cards, calling cards, labels, and in any design you can think of. All precious!!

I decided I wanted to do a few custom cupcake toppers. I emailed them to ask a few questions about designs to match my theme. I immediately got a response back from Torry (the creativity behind Graceful Correspondence) and within minutes she had made a draft matching exactly what I was thinking! Simply fabulous!!

I cannot tell you how great was to work with her! And how great her products are! I will be back! Right now I am eying some thank you cards with owls on them…my new fave thing at the moment.

Thanksgiving Party Planning

Since next week is around the corner I thought I would talk about Thanksgiving! It is one of my favorite holidays due to the time and memories I have with family. I want to share some ideas of some things I have shared or worked on and compile in one spot.

I think with any Thanksgiving get together – whether that be just with family or a huge blow out bash – having those special touches to the menu or the decor are a great place to make memories for years to come.

I think no matter what type of Thanksgiving event – a Theme is important. Think about everything Thanksgiving – pumpkins, thankfulness, harvest, food, cornucopia or just do a color theme. I think hayride theme is great idea for Thanksgiving.

I searched a while for Thanksgiving invitations for a Corporate party I was planning and I found the cutest customizable invitations. Great ideas here for any type of event but these turned out so cute!

Once those invites go out – whether just verbal to family/friends or actually sending out invites, it’s time to work on details, details!! I would start of course after the theme is decided – with FOOD! Of course, it is Thanksgiving!!! There are some great sites out there to help with this. I think its special to use recipes that have been passed down for years. My family is currently compiling a cookbook dedicated to my grandmother. (What a great idea of Christmas too for those out you out there!). Include the normal traditions but also don’t be afraid to try something new! I’ll be searching for some great recipes to share with you!

And then finalize everything and set that table! How cute are these name place cards! Of course from my fav site!
